Community Resource Directory

Introduction

The Solvay Union Free School District Directory of Community Resources and Services
was developed in collaboration with Solvay Union Free School District’s Mental Health
and Community Schools Initiatives. Funding was provided by the NYS Office of Mental
Health with the aim of increasing awareness and access to school and community-based
resources and assistance. To learn more about mental health initiatives and Solvay Union
Free School District’s implementation and efforts regarding the OMH Grant, please click
here to view the OMH Grant or contact the Solvay Union Free School District Office of
Mental Health at 315-487-7061.

The vision for this guide is to strengthen and empower Solvay Families by offering
information on relevant topics pertaining to health, stability, and well-being. It is our
goal to help improve lives through education, assistance, and opportunities. SUFSD
acknowledges that families and circumstances are unique. SUFSD aims to embrace
differences, diversity, and cultures with openness, appreciation, and curiosity. Families,
family dynamics, and solutions are not “one size fits all.” It is from this perspective that
mental health challenges, substance misuse disorders, trauma, family functioning, and
household management deserve empathetic and effective support. To that end, SUFSD
offers both a print and online version of this Directory. Follow this link to go directly to
the index. The Online Directory offers translations in Spanish, Ukrainian, and Arabic.
Revisions and updating of the Community Directory will be ongoing; print revisions and
updates will occur annually. For any input or information changes, please contact the
Solvay Schools Mental Health Office at 315-487-7061 or email the office at
CommunityDirectory@solvayschools.org.
