Students selected for NYSSMA Jr. High Area All-State Chorus:
NYSSMA Stars
Congratulations to Vincent Fragola, Elizabeth Plouffe, Evangeline Roebig and Andrianna Van Slyke on being selected to participate in the 2024 NYSSMA Jr. High Area All-State Chorus at Homer High School on November 1st and 2nd, 2024. These students were selected based on a very rigorous audition process last Spring and represented Solvay so well to our greater Central New York community. Vincent and Elizabeth were members of the Mixed Chorus and Evangeline and Andi were members of the Treble Choir. We are very proud of their musical accomplishments and wish them well as they continue to grow and develop into very fine young musicians.

Solvay Strong! Girls on the Run:
Solvay Strong!
It was a busy weekend for the 4th grade Girls on the Run team. They had a lemonade stand and bottle drive to raise money for the PTO and completed the season with a 5K joining other girls from the region. There were 18 girls, 6 staff members, and many family members who completed the race!
The girls made their own motto: “Keep on Moving, We are strong: Who are we: We’re girls on the run!”

Solvay students conquer Chip Camp:
A few of Solvay's 6th and 7th graders had the opportunity to attend a Micron Chip Camp hosted by Liverpool CSD over Spring Break. Students challenged themselves through hands-on STEM activities such as creating scribble-bots, rubber band race cars, and hydraulic claws. During the camp, students traveled to Cornell University to learn about Nanotechnology and try on Clean Room suits. Chip Camp invites students to see and experience what engineers and scientists do every day in a semiconductor company.
