Increased Income Limits for NYS Disabled and Senior Property Tax Exemptions

Increased Income Limits for NYS Disabled and Senior Property Tax Exemptions ??

The District is pleased to announce that the income limits for the New York State Property Tax exemptions for both Seniors (Aged 65 and Over) and Persons with Disabilities have been increased for the upcoming tax year. This decision, adopted by the Board of Education on October 20th, aims to provide greater property tax relief to more eligible members of our community.

The deadline for filing exemption applications with your local Assessor's Office is March 1. The applications can be found on the NYS Dept of Taxation and Finance website. For specific application forms, necessary documentation, and questions regarding eligibility or filing procedures, please contact your Town Assessor's Office. The School District does not process these applications.

The District  is committed to supporting our seniors and residents with disabilities. We encourage all eligible homeowners to review the new income guidelines and apply for these valuable property tax savings.
