SMS students earn 2nd place at CNY History Bowl

On Saturday, members of the Solvay MS History Club, Adam Altaj [8], Tauj Allejarde [8], Dominic LaDuke [8] and Vivia Schossler [5] participated in the CNY History Bowl contest held at Bishop Ludden- Grimes.

These Bearcats were asked over 250+ high level stimulus based questions on all types of History throughout the day, participating in 6 rounds of the contest. They participated against 6 other HS and MS teams from around New York State and New Jersey and finished 2nd in the MS division!

This was the first time Solvay has participated in this event, and these Bearcats all did outstanding! Mr. Sgroi and Mr. Costa are very proud of them - they represented our school and community well, receiving many compliments from the tournament hosts and moderators! It was a great day to be a Bearcat!
