Varsity Softball team "Strikes Out" Lou Gehrig's Disease

The Varsity Softball team recently competed in the 5th annual "Strike Out Lou Gehrig's Disease" ALS Softball Classic. We raised over $800 (they ask each team to raise $500) with help from the STA, Boosters Club, and Solvay PBA as well as others. We beat Homer on Saturday at the Gillette Road Complex in Cicero and then went on the field for the pregame ceremonies (picture) at the Syracuse Mets "ALS Awareness Game" at NBT Bank stadium Sunday (pictures). It was a great experience that taught the girls about giving back to the community and being part of something bigger than themselves.
