DECA Students Win Awards
Solvay DECA returned to LeMoyne College for the annual Region 9 Conference where they joined 300 students from ten schools to compete in business role play events. Solvay was well represented by 24 exceptional students who all performed very well. The students had spent the previous two months working after school to gain knowledge of business concepts and to practice their presentation skills. Their hard work paid off and 12 students walked away with awards in their events.WINNERS:
4th place winners were: Victoria Zappala, Rai Vang, Naomi Germakovski, and Emily Rolince
3th place winners were: Anthony Brusa and Jack Burke, Kaylah Kowalczyk, Mekhi Johnson, and Jack Haskell
2nd place winners were: Maria Brusa and Samson Scalzo
1st place winner was: Stephen Bagozzi
All of the award winners, as well as other students who had an outstanding performance at regionals now qualify to compete in the NY DECA State Career Conference to be held March 8 - 10 in Rochester, NY where they will compete with over 2,000 students from around the state. Congratulations to all of these students and good luck as they move forward in the competition.
