Collaboration at its B.E.S.T.! Collaboration at its B.E.S.T.!:   In Ms Collins BEST program, fourth graders are partnered up with a first grader. Taking on the responsibility of being a big brother or a big sister, these children have worked with their younger partner on academic and social skills. Click any image to enlarge it.      
HOLIDAY CONCERT 12/21 @ SHS HOLIDAY CONCERT 12/21 @ SHS:   Come out and join us for the senior high winter concert! After a year and a half of no music, it's time we close the 2021 year with some beautiful music created by our talented students. The concert will begin at 7pm. Masks are required. As always, if any alumni are in the audience we hope you will join us! Wishing everyone a Happy Holiday - the Senior High Music Department!
DECA Competition held at SHS DECA Competition held at SHS: On Saturday, December 11th, Solvay High School hosted the Region 9 DECA Competition. Approximately 200 students from nine local high schools came together to apply their academic knowledge to business cases, create solutions, and present them to volunteer business professionals. Solvay DECA had 19 students participate in the competition. Each of the students had been preparing throughout the fall, to learn business content and to develop their presentation skills. Before the competition they had taken a DECA exam testing their business knowledge. All of the students spent time after school to be ready for competition. Solvay Honors Nicole Halloran, Athletic Trainer Solvay Honors Nicole Halloran, Athletic Trainer:   This week is NYSATA Recognition Week. We would like to recognize and express our appreciation for all the hard work Nicole Halloran, athletic trainer, does for our students, schools, and community.  She is entering her 18th year.  Nicole graduated from Ithaca College.  She and her husband, Shawn, daughters, Ryann and Addie live in Syracuse.  Nicole is always ready to "roll up her sleeves" to help in any way she can whether it's supporting the athletic office, assessing students' injuries, or COVID testing.  Thank you Nicole!   (Pictured is Nicole and daughter, Addie, at a recent varsity football game.)
