Calling All Elves! Students Apply for Jobs at the North Pole

Calling all elves! It’s a busy time of year in the North Pole and the Solvay Union Free School District is looking to help.

Last week, students (elves) from Ms. Dennison’s class interviewed for job openings at the North Pole. Interviews were conducted with the help of Solvay Administration, including Solvay Superintendent Mr. Wright, Assistant Superintendent for Instruction Mr. Larison, and Special Education Secretary Mrs. Sgarlata.

Elves were invited to interview for a variety of positions, including Barn Assistant, Candy Chef, Doctor/Veterinarian, Health Trainer, International Travel Expert , Office Assistant, Toy Maker, and Warehouse Supervisor. Elves were then asked to pick a job to interview for that would best fit their talents. For the interview, elves wrote a persuasive letter describing their qualifications and explaining why they wanted the job in the North Pole. They were also asked to provide a letter of reference.

During the interviews, elves were asked a variety of questions pertaining to the jobs they had applied for. From working with reindeer to opening letters to Santa, these elves proved they were qualified for the job and impressed their interviewers. Great work, Ms. Dennison’s class!
