Award Winning Illustrator London Ladd visits Solvay

Children's book illustrator and award-winning artist London Ladd visited the district last week with presentations at each of the schools. In this visit sponsored by the Library Media department, students learned about Ladd's unique art style, the process of publishing a children's book, and the importance of never counting yourself out. At the high school, students in Kim McGraw's art classes created self-portraits in Ladd's style. At the elementary and middle school presentations, Ladd drew collaborative sketches with student volunteers.
