Hour of Code
Solvay Union Free School District Celebrates Hour of Code 2017

Join the Solvay Union Free School District tonight, Dec. 6 at Solvay Middle School for the Hour of Code event. The Hour of Code event will take place in the SMS library from 5–8 p.m.

In honor of the annual Hour of Code and Computer Science Week, students of any age and their families are invited to learn to code, try out various robotics, and explore the Makerspace items. Hour of Code is an initiative started by code.org. The campaign encourages students to learn more about computer science, and in turn demystifies coding. In showing students the basics of coding, they are encouraged to develop an interest in computer science. Code.org has successfully engaged ten percent of students from across the world, grades K-12.

Attendance to the event also enters each student to win door prizes. We hope to see you tonight as we participate in #HourOfCode2017!
