Solvay Honors Former Principal Mr. Michael Campolieta

Solvay High School recently received a generous gift to honor well-known teacher, coach, administrator, and friend, Mr. Michael A. Campolieta. The gift was a portrait of the late Mr. Campolieta, also known by students and staff as “Mr. Camp.” The portrait serves to honor Mr. Campolieta’s time at Solvay High School, where he worked from 1956 to 1979. Mr. Campolieta is remembered for his dedication to the Solvay community, as well as his commitment to the students of Solvay High School.

Mr. Campolieta’s portrait was donated to Solvay by the Campolieta family. Mr. Campolieta’s son, Len, presented the portrait to the Solvay Board of Education.

“I am pleased that we are able to honor Mr. Campolieta’s memory and impact on the Solvay community with this portrait,” said Lawrence Wright, Solvay Superintendent.

Mr. Campolieta’s portrait will hang in the Solvay High School auditorium. The Solvay High School Class of 1961 kindly presented a commemorative plate to accompany Mr. Campolieta’s portrait.
